Reading all the Books

Nathan has become a little reader boy. We moved to Visalia, CA in December (and therefore into a new house). There is a big linen closet in the hallway, and I have put all of the kids books on one of the lower shelves. He loves that he can open the door and all of the books are right there on his level. So he grabs out as many as he can hold and then takes a seat and flips through them. This means that we often have little book messes throughout the house, but I guess there are worse things, right?

He thinks its funny to run away while I am changing him. Oh, the joys of freedom. Once the diaper is off he squirms right around and the other day took off running down the hall, pushing his little car as he went.

More Candy

We took a trip up near Merced to visit with Grandpa and Grandma Anderson. I think Caelan is the only one of our kids that has been there before (when she was a little tot). It was nice and sunny today so the kids ran around in the backyard and played with all of their character figurines throughout the house. And we managed to leave without breaking any of their valuable souvenirs that they have collected from other countries throughout the years...PHEW (but just barely - Nathan decided to try and knock over a set of nesting tables, but Dad fixed them up nice)! They have a bowl of hard candies on their coffee table in the living room. Nathan just kept coming back for more and for more and for more. It's always nice to visit with Grandpa and Grandma. We're glad we're close enough to be able to do it again soon.

Binkie-Lover

This is our binkie loving boy. He comes by it rightly. Everyone one of his older sisters and brother has also LOVED the binkie. And he's not really picky - he'll almost take any one you give him (the latex, the silicone, the nuk style, the straight kind, pink ones, blue ones, any kind). He also has a favorite blanket (it a blue blanket that is soft on one side and silky on the other) that he has started needing at all times (comes by that rightly too).

Too Cold for Me

We took a trip up to Sequoia National Park on New Years (with one of Dad's coworkers and his family) and played in the snow. Nathan was fairly good for a while, but when he was done....HE WAS DONE. Once he decided that he was cold and wet that was the end of that. There was no consoling that boy. And who could blame him - he was the only one without real snow shoes (we thought he would be fine since we would be holding him most of the time, but his little feet still got cold after a while). He did enjoy tasting the snow while we were there. He likes to chew ice, so this was just as good.
